a reminder to love myself | #poem

she drinks her tea
no taste, only bitter
but she still does it anyway

she eats less
not what she usually eat
it tastes bitter
but she still does it anyway

she works out
really hard until she's covered
in sweat and pain
but she still does it anyway

she puts her feet on the scales
with anxious heart and mind
hope to see smaller number

she's upset
she feels betrayed
all of her hard works seem nothing

she eats more
to make her feel better
when actually
she will regret it
but she still does it anyway

but she realizes
she forgot to tell herself
"don't be preassured."
"you're doing well."
"do not give up."

she forgot
to tell herself
that she is still in the process
to be better
and nothing can be done
in a short period of time

so she tells herself
"let's work hard,
but first,
love yourself."
